Women Have the Power to Influence the World

Ghana

Ghana

The Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, has launched the Awesome Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Magazine, a publication aimed at nurturing and motivating women entrepreneurs.  The magazine is targeting aspiring and current female business owners between 20 and 60 years old.

AWE will be published once a year for women entrepreneurs, providing support through a range of articles, some of which have been culled from the University of Georgia’s Business Sense Archives.

“It is  important to empower women because they have the power to influence the world,” says Mrs. Amissah-Arthur.

Boost Business Through Exports

EasternCape

Eastern Cape, South Africa (Port Elizabeth)

Eastern Cape businesswomen are on a mission through an Eastern Cape cooperative to crack into international markets.  Thanks to the Department of Trade and Industry (the DTI), more than thirty-three business people are participating in in the 30th International Fair of Luanda Trade Exhibition popularly known as FILDA, taking place in the Angolan capital of Luanda.

One of the participants, Mbecwa says:

“I am also harbouring ambitions of seeing our soya mince which we produce in Butterworth, attracting attention from the Angolan people or even exhibitors from other countries so that we can start exporting. Entering the export market will be a huge boost to our business and will result in us expanding our business by increasing production and hiring more people.”

Building Trust in a Relationship

TrustWEGG

Trust affects all of us and is an important lubricant for economic exchanges to take place in a productive manner.  It is especially important in international business relationships, where, due to distance, you might not have an opportunity to meet an individual in person, yet elect to do business with him from thousands of miles away and in a culture unlike your own.

In the following article, I talk about six ways to build trust in a global business relationship.  These methods also apply to personal relationships.  My intent is that you will nurture a relationship to last a lifetime.

The Foundation’s vision is:

A world where women have equal opportunities and the capability, confidence and capital necessary to establish and grow businesses, resulting in a brighter future for the women themselves and their communities as a whole.
