Emily Thayer graduated from Northwestern University with a major in Linguistics and minor in Psychology. She is interested in all things language-related, particularly the correspondence of phonology with social identity. In her work and writing, she aims to engage with issues facing Chicago communities, as well as those that women face worldwide.

Emily currently holds an administrative position at a New York real estate company. She enjoys traveling and reading at every opportunity. At wegg® and for the future, she hopes to use her passion for writing to uplift and inspire others.
