Black Business Month 2026
“Make excellence your brand.”
— Oprah Winfrey
August is nationally recognized as Black Business Month, which wegg® is eager to celebrate and support every year! Black Business Month provides a well-deserved spotlight on African-American entrepreneurs and their enterprises. In addition to recognizing the achievements of Black business owners, this month is an opportunity to highlight the important role they play in strengthening communities and contributing to the broader economy.
In recent years, Black-female-owned businesses have seen some of the fastest expansion of any sector of entrepreneurs, surging over 70% in recent multi-year census cycles. This growth reflects the continued entrepreneurial momentum within the Black community and the increasing impact of Black women business owners in particular.
Furthermore, Black-owned employer firms employ over 1.2 million workers and continue to add billions in aggregate annual payroll to the U.S. economy. This finding emphasizes that supporting Black-owned businesses is about more than just celebrating entrepreneurship; it is about recognizing the economic impact these businesses create.
For wegg®, Black Business Month is a meaningful opportunity to recognize these contributions and help shine a light on the entrepreneurs who are making a lasting difference in our world.
