FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JULIE SMOLYANSKY RECEIVES THE INAUGURAL GAIL ADINAMIS WEGG® AWARD FOR EXEMPLARY GLOBAL LEADERSHIP™
Chicago – February 23, 2022: Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global® (wegg®)—a Chicago-based nonprofit organization with a mission to educate, inspire and nurture women business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide—announced today that Lifeway Foods CEO Julie Smolyansky is the first recipient of the Gail Adinamis wegg® Award for Exemplary Global Leadership™.
The award honors a wegg stakeholder who has gone out of her way to connect, create, contribute and collaborate with wegg, and forge helpful alliances. It is named after Adinamis, founder of Global Care Clinical Trials, LLC, a leading global provider of ambulant health care services for clinical trials. The company was acquired by LabCorp in July 2020 to further expand its decentralized clinical trials capabilities globally.
“Gail and many others who will follow in her footsteps are defined neither by their knowledge and connections nor by the global opportunities they seize, but by how they contribute to the growth of others,” said wegg President Laurel Delaney. “The Gail Adinamis wegg® Award for Exemplary Global Leadership™ recognizes the best of the best within our ranks.”
Julie Smolyansky became the youngest female CEO of a publicly held firm at the age of 27 when she took over leadership of Lifeway Foods in 2002—where she still serves as president and CEO. Under her leadership, Smolyansky transformed the business her parents started in 1986 into a multinational firm, growing its revenue from $12 million to currently more than $120 million in annual sales, with expanded distribution throughout the United States, Mexico and Ireland, as well as portions of Central and South America and the Caribbean.
“Julie has set the bar high for all global women business owners worldwide by her unwavering ability to connect, create and contribute to the growth of others,” Adinamis said. “Great global leaders like Julie are authentic, adaptive, mindful and inspirational in the way in which they lead their organizations.”
“I am honored to receive the Gail Adinamis wegg® Award for Exemplary Global Leadership™,” Smolyansky said. “For women entrepreneurs, establishing resources, setting up a deliberate network strategy, scaling globally, and making connections are vital to global market success.”
The award ceremony took place virtually on February 22. Learn more about the Gail Adinamis wegg® Award for Exemplary Global Leadership™ at https://womenentrepreneursgrowglobal.org/about/the-gail-adinamis-wegg-award/.
