160 Women Entrepreneurs Featured at Expo in Tbilisi, Georgia
When women business owners are given opportunities to showcase their skills, sell their brands, and network for themselves and their dreams, success is what follows. Increasing the possibilities and chances for women founders across the world is one of our foundational building blocks, and wegg® aims to provide exposure and optimal advice for them every chance we get.
Last week, UN Women published, “Celebrating women’s entrepreneurship: Georgia satellite EXPO event spotlights women-led businesses,” which highlighted a recent second annual two-day women’s business Expo in Tbilisi wherein “160 women entrepreneurs from different regions of Georgia seized the opportunity to showcase and sell their products while forging business connections at the Expo Georgia Exhibition Center.” The women in attendance were able to foster partnerships and raise awareness of their entrepreneurial efforts to a large audience base.
As the writeup articulates,
“Kaori Ishikawa, UN Women Country Representative in Georgia, highlighted the significance of such large-scale exhibitions for women entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses: ‘This kind of extensive exhibition and sale will provide greater awareness and opportunities for business development to women entrepreneurs in Georgia.'”
One of the women who participated in the event, Una Kutateladze, “mentioned that this event has been a great opportunity for her business: ‘I’ve connected with many women entrepreneurs and people who are interested in my work. This event marks a significant step forward for my business.'”
Additionally, at this year’s Expo, there was “a dedicated section allocated for tech start-ups founded by women” for the first time, which is a remarkable step in the right direction. We applaud the leaps, strides, and bounds that UN Women is aiding women entrepreneurs across the globe to take.
