Handling End of Year Burnout
The homestretch of 2025 is upon us, and business owners everywhere are wrapping up and reflecting on their last twelve months. Planning ahead, budgeting, and forecasting for the new year is in full swing, but burnout is also rampant during these final weeks. Finishing strong and capitalizing on the success, as well as recovering from any challenges, are all at the fingertips of our community of global women entrepreneurs. We are here to help mitigate the burnout and propel your motivation.
In Ginger Gentile’s recent article for Forbes entitled, “The Burnout Crisis Pushing Women Out Requires Innovative Solutions,” she outlines how the burnout crisis especially affects women:
“Women are approaching a burnout breaking point and the warning signs are everywhere. Meta-analysis research shows that women report higher levels of work-related emotional exhaustion than men. Add the weight of unpaid domestic labor and caregiving responsibilities and the pressure becomes relentless. For many working mothers, the mental load never lifts, blurring every boundary between work, home and rest.”
Gentile goes on to cite expertise from clinical psychologist Dr. Kate Lund, who explains “When we treat resilience as optional, burnout becomes inevitable…If we want women to thrive professionally, we must support the systems that sustain them at home…Burnout doesn’t come from doing too much…It comes from doing too much without recovery.”
wegg® knows that the women entrepreneurs in our network are all too familiar with running on empty and making the impossible possible. We wish they had the economical and structured support to feel bolstered by the world surrounding them.
“Give up the delusion that burnout is the inevitable cost of success.”
