Celebrating 250 Years of Independence and the Global Entrepreneurial Spirit That Built It
We hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July. This year’s celebration carried extra weight: America’s 250th anniversary. On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted for independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a document built on the belief that individuals have the right to determine their own future.
That belief is the same one driving women entrepreneurs around the world today. Independence Day has always been as much about self-determination as it is about a nation’s founding, and that spirit runs through every business owner who decides to build something of her own – and every one who decides to take it global.
At Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global (wegg), we see that same courage every day: women choosing to expand beyond their borders, take on new markets, and create opportunity not just for themselves but for their families and communities. It’s a modern extension of the same principle this country was founded on, that liberty and prosperity are worth pursuing boldly.
However you marked the holiday this year, we hope it was a moment to reflect on how far independence – personal, professional, and international – can take us. On behalf of wegg, we wish you continued growth, resilience, and prosperity in all your global endeavors.
