While we’ve never really exported, we imported from the very beginning. A lot of our suppliers are global. We have a few in Asia, several in Europe and, of course, a lot domestically. And our customers are global.
My journey to entrepreneurship wasn’t a sudden leap, but the outcome of a foundation built over time. As an immigrant child, I grew up in a household where education and opportunity were seen as equal rights for both girls and boys, a belief that was uncommon in those times and in the environment around me.

That’s how we realized that we didn’t just make a product that was great for our cofounder when he needed another cast or brace, but there were also many other people in the ecosystem who were eager to have this solution.

I started this company out of my own frustration in not finding the right product and from the pain other women in the industry experience. Poorly fitting PPE is a confidence killer, and it also impacts safety at work. I wanted to remove this unnecessary barrier and help women feel confident, safe, and focus on the job instead of constantly being distracted by the poor fit and discomfort.
Due to our current administration’s tariffs, there’s going to be lots of pain this year, so what things are most important to keep your business moving forward? That might mean you have to de-prioritize something. At B.T.R., we have so much exciting innovation coming, but that might take an extra quarter now because our priority is on retail expansion.
