Everything You Need to Know About our 11/13 weggchat™ with Andrea Sreshta
“Keep putting one foot in front of the other and learning from the good and bad experiences. You don’t need to know the entire textbook—in fact, there is no textbook. You just need to know the next one thing you’re setting out to do. You do that thing and keep going.”
Andrea Sreshta, co-founder of LuminAID
On Wednesday November 13th, 2019, wegg® is hosting a weggchat™ with Andrea Sreshta, co-founder of LuminAID. LuminAID is a, “Chicago-based company [offering] portable, long-lasting, solar-powered lighting solutions,” as noted in a profile done by Chase Bank. The LuminAID light has been sold to individuals and organizations in more than 70 countries.
Sreshta and fellow co-founder, Anna Stork, met in graduate school while studying architecture and design. They launched their company, “in 2010, on a shared belief that innovative design can be used to tackle real-world problems.” This mission was realized when the founders deployed the product as relief to victims of the Haiti earthquake that same year. Since then, outreach projects with NGO partners have put more than 30,000 donated lights on-the-ground for use in charitable projects around the world and after disasters. Learn about LuminAID’s road to success, and Sreshta’s top tips for other women entrepreneurs seeking to shine light on the world, at our weggchat™.
To engage in the free weggchat™, participants use tchat.io or twubs.com to follow the conversation using the hashtag #weggchat. The purpose of the chat is to educate women entrepreneurs and business owners on how to grow global. In the last five minutes of our chat, all participants are invited to share their “140 character” elevator pitch on their businesses. More information about the event can be found here.
