Celebrating Pride Month 2025
Happy Pride from wegg®! Every June is a welcomed reminder to celebrate, commemorate, and contend for the global LGBTQ+ community. We are proud to highlight this Pride Month 2025, which GLAAD announced is themed “One Story. One Future.” GLAAD’s official press release describes the context and importance of this theme,
“Pride is for everyone. This Pride Month, GLAAD urges the LGBTQ community and its allies to unite in defense of equality, love, and freedom. Each member of the LGBTQ community has their own story, but the fight for justice, rights, and visibility is one that binds us all together. Because a world that is safer, freer, and more joyful for LGBTQ people is a better world for everyone, as we share and are rooted in one story and one future.”
Speaking up and speaking out in support of LGBTQ+ individuals everywhere is even more pressing this year, as Gravity Research found in, “its 2025 Pride Pulse Poll, which surveyed communications and public affairs officers from over 200 major corporations, nearly 40% reported that their companies are reducing Pride-related engagement, and none expect engagement levels to increase this year. A majority (61%) cited pressure from the new administration as the cause for change, followed by 39% concerned about a conservative backlash” Forbes reports.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts have been threatened and attacked to no end amidst the divisive political climate, so holding firm for the LGBTQ+ community is ever-relevant. Some insightful resources to explore and sharpen your mind, as the month of June marches on, follow.
