Cheers to 10 Years: An Anniversary Gala Recap!
Oh, what a night! This past Thursday, we celebrated 10 years as a 501(c)(3) at the Tortoise Supper Club in Chicago, IL. With more than 100 attendees and $20,000 raised in support of wegg®’s mission, it was truly a celebration for the ages. The gala was a can’t-miss party, drawing guests from as far west as Oregon and California and as far east as New Jersey and Massachusetts. Emcee powerhouse Whitney Reynolds, the Emmy-nominated host and producer of The Whitney Reynolds Show, spotlighted the many women entrepreneurs who filmed testimonials in praise of the transformative impact wegg has had on their lives. The empowerment message of the evening was further fortified by an all female musician playlist and silent auction items and goodie bag giveaways from more than a dozen women-owned businesses to boot.
We are so grateful for everyone who showed up and showed out to toast to wegg’s past, present, and thrilling future. With 70% of the guests being women business owners from around the country, sisterhood and success were abound. President Laurel Delaney delivered remarks on how far wegg has come since our 2015 inception. What started as a one-woman blog has evolved into a growth engine serving 50,000 women around the world to date. Laurel listed wegg’s many programs and initiatives, which is a faction that is growing by the week.
Thank you to our premier sponsors, APCO and JPMorgan Chase, for making the unforgettable night possible. We could not have done it without the assistance of dozens of volunteers- especially Loyola’s undergraduate organization, Women in Business, as well as our planning committee. Seeing their tireless efforts come together into a smashing success was equally fulfilling and motivating.
If you were unable to attend but want to support wegg’s next ten years, you can do so by making a tax-deductible contribution here.
Enjoy just a handful of the many memories that were captured and will be cherished for years to come!
