WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS GROW GLOBAL® LAUNCHES WEGG DOBO™ (DAUGHTERS OF BUSINESS OWNERS) TO EMPOWER NEXT-GENERATION WOMEN BUSINESS LEADERS
wegg® Daughters of Business Owners (wegg DOBO™) Equips Participants with the Confidence and Skills Needed to Navigate the Challenges of Succession and Leadership
Chicago – June 16, 2025: Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global® (wegg®) – a Chicago-based nonprofit organization with a mission to educate, inspire, and nurture women business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide – proudly announces wegg Daughters of Business Owners (wegg DOBO™), a groundbreaking initiative designed specifically for women preparing to take the reins of their family businesses.
Developed by women for women, wegg DOBO equips participants with the confidence and skills needed to navigate the challenges of succession and leadership. It offers a supportive, professionally-facilitated cohort experience for 5-7 women executives, who meet virtually each month for two hours. Discussions are tailored to members’ needs and cover a wide range of topics, including transparent succession planning, establishing boundaries between personal and professional life, and adapting communication and leadership styles when stepping into larger roles-especially when leading teams that include non-family members.
“wegg DOBO was born out of candid conversations over coffee with Melissa Haskin of Buffalo Exchange,” shared Laurel Delaney, President of wegg. “Melissa and I met regularly to discuss the challenges she faced as the daughter of a successful business owner. She recognized the value of these honest exchanges and suggested that others could benefit as well. Together, we created a space for women in similar positions to connect and grow.”
Reflecting on her experience, Melissa Haskin said, “I didn’t know what to expect, but after the first meeting, I felt right at home. The trust, camaraderie, and shared experiences have helped me become a better leader and reassured me that I am not alone on this journey.”
“DOBO gives my daughter Melissa and her cohort colleagues the chance to ask one another the hard questions they don’t feel comfortable asking their parents. Such an opportunity can only benefit their respective companies,” adds Rebecca Block, President of Buffalo Exchange.
The inaugural wegg DOBO meeting was held virtually on February 3rd.
