What do a lot of women think the key to success is in exporting? Surprisingly enough, many think face-to-face meetings are critical because you cannot get your idea across in an email. I don’t necessarily agree with that because if you do a fantastic job marketing your products via social media platforms (like this one, for example), customers will not only find you but be excited about buying from you.
One female business owner who I agree with, Suzie de Rohan Willner, chief executive for Fitflop, following a career in international sales for global fashion brand, said this about exporting:
Suzie told delegates there are a number of stages to successful trading internationally, starting with creating a strong brand identity, surrounding yourself by positive people and networking, finding a balance between creating strong foundations for your business while being flexible to accommodate foreign cultures, carrying out research and having confidence in yourself and your brand.
