WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS GROW GLOBAL® ELECTS BOARD OF DIRECTOR MEMBER LORI NOVAK AS TREASURER
Chicago – January 30, 2024: Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global® (wegg®) elected Lori Novak as board treasurer, effective January 1, 2024.
Novak, vice president of Foreign Exchange, Capital Markets for Associated Bank, assumes the treasurer role from director emeritus Nancy Stachnik, who served in this capacity since wegg’s founding in 2015.
“Nancy helped wegg grow from a startup nonprofit to a thriving enterprise,” said wegg president and founder Laurel Delaney. “We are confident that Lori’s exceptional leadership experience in finance—more than 12 years in foreign exchange—will move the organization to whole new levels of excellence.”
A Chicago-based nonprofit organization, wegg delivers affordable and accessible education to women business owners and entrepreneurs seeking to sell their products and services worldwide. As treasurer, Novak will manage cash flow, pay and record bills, maintain bank records, reconcile statements and guide the organization on a path to strategic growth. She will work closely with wegg president Delaney, secretary Molly Bañuelos, and chief operating officer Robert Marovich.
“I am excited and deeply honored to serve as the wegg treasurer,” Novak said. “I am particularly excited to be a part of seeing, through wegg’s work, more women take the path to global expansion for their businesses.”
“Lori Novak is a perfect fit for our needs right now,” said Marovich. “Whenever she is asked to do anything to help advance the organization, Lori says yes. Her work ethic and dedication to wegg are immeasurable.”
At Associated Bank, Novak advises corporate clients on managing the currency risk that arises from conducting business globally. She serves as vice president of the board for the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club and is a member of the board of the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce. Lori is past president of the Alumni Association of North Central College, former co-chair of the Chicago Chapter of Associated Bank’s Women’s Network, and a member of the Communications Committee for the bank’s Cultural Awareness Network. She earned a B.A. from North Central College and M.S. from Illinois Institute of Technology.
As treasurer, Novak will work alongside an extraordinary group of female business owners and leaders on wegg®’s board. In addition to Laurel Delaney and Molly Banuelos, they are Elizabeth (Ela) W. Baio, Linda Bi, Candace Fletcher, Mara Hedgecoth, Genevra Knight, Susan Meyer, Hannah Slaughter, Kati Suominen, Ph.D., Candice Tal, Katie McCarron and Andrea Wagner, Ph.D.
